FEDECOVERA is a second level cooperative with the same structure as its cooperative partners.

Forty five years ago, FEDECOVERA started working with 4,000 coffee and cardamom producers.

In 2021, FEDECOVERA is conformed by 42 cooperative partners and more than 120 groups of small producers gathering more than 33,000 producing families.

The three main objectives are:

- Improve the quality and increase the production at the farm level and consequently improve farmers’ competitiveness,

- Build capacity of farmers and farmer organizations,

- Build long-term partnerships with customers that share the same interests and values.

We strengthen local service capacity through two relevant training programs:

The technical production assistance and the cooperative management assistance.

Key activities of the technical production assistance include:

- Efficient training on the field from agricultural experts, able to speak the language of the communities,

- Better access to natural inputs and improved planting material.

Key activities of the cooperative management assistance include:

- Professionalizing farmer organizations (recordkeeping, operating and cash budgets, leveraging resources),

- Providing financing mechanisms,

- Farmer business skills training,

- Business service centers (marketing, legal consultancy, global positioning system).
