COFFEE TOUR A FLAVORED TRIP Guatemala is rich on natural and cultural diversity, offers an encounter with the best coffee of the world by going in the “CHICOJ COFFEE TOUR”.
This coffee tour offers in a 2-hour trip, the experience of knowing a coffee plantation, the process of wet milling, and the opportunity to share with the growers through a road designed to show a culture of coffee on a natural way. COFFEE PRODUCTION AS A LINK BETWEEN CULTURES At the cooperative named CHICOJ, you will be in contact with a small coffee growers’ organization, of both, men and women from the Mayan ethnic: Q’eqchí; and walk through a road among coffee plantations of more than a century of history. NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION A part of tour is done inside a reforestation area, where the cooperative’s associates let know the benefits obtained by conserving biodiversity.
CANOPY PRACTICING On a beautiful artificial lagoon, you will live a unique experience practicing extreme sports, such as canopy where an air way will let you look over the lagoon using a rope and being sustained by a harness.
COFFEE TOURISM At the Chicoj Cooperative, the agriculture and forestry sustainability are promoted through tourism, as an alternative of income and a better way of living for all small growers.
LOCATION The Chicoj Cooperative, is located at the North-West side of Cobán, Alta Verapaz, at 6 kilometers from downtown, on the route that leads to the Samac Community (behind aviation land). SCHEDULE 1st. departure 09:00 A.M. We also have a handicraft store, a coffee shop and a multiuse lounge.
